Less work, not more
What a week looks like
Care teams work long shifts and tight rotas. We built this to fit around the care, not add to it.
Start of the week
The one fix for the week is waiting. Children's homes and fostering also get the online safety alert.
Any shift
Each member of staff does one 10 to 15 minute step, when it suits them.
Your Registered Manager
Under an hour a week to see progress and pick the next fix.
All the time
Every step is dated and logged. Your evidence report is ready for inspection in one click.
Why it sticks
Once a year, or a little every week?
Many services rely on one session a year in the training matrix. Here's how a little every week compares.
| Question | Annual training | CyberSafe Coach |
|---|---|---|
| How often | Once a year | A little every week |
| How long | 30 minutes to a few hours in one sitting | 10 to 15 minutes |
| Fitting around shifts | A session to book around the rota | Any shift, on a phone |
| New scams and online risks | Updated once a year | New alerts as new risks appear |
| Proof for inspection | A completion certificate | A dated record of every step, and an evidence report |
| Online safety and data security | Usually separate courses | Both, in one place |
“Consistent small messages are more digestible and more effective than an hour session once a year.”
How we compare
Compared with other care training
There's excellent free help with the DSPT, and big e-learning libraries priced per person. CyberSafe Coach keeps online safety going every week for the whole team, covers children's and adult services, and builds the evidence as you go.
See the comparison
Prices and details from each provider's own website, checked on 17 October 2026.
| Provider | Price | Who it's for | How it's delivered | Record you can show |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CyberSafe Coach | £450 a year (up to 20 staff) or £890 (up to 50) | Adult and children's services | 10 to 15 minutes a week, all year | A dated record and evidence report |
| Digital Care Hub data protection e-learning | Free | Adult social care staff | Two scenario-based courses | A certificate for data protection leads who score 80% or more |
| Care Skills Academy | From £3.00 to £6.67 per person a month | Care staff | Library of care e-learning | Learning management system records |
| iHasco | £300 for 100 course credits, plus VAT | Any staff | One 30-minute cyber course and a test | A certificate with an expiry date |
Better Security, Better Care isn't a rival. Its free support is the place to start with the DSPT, and CyberSafe Coach keeps the learning going every week and records it.

The detail
The Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT)
The DSPT no longer asks for a fixed share of staff to be trained each year. Instead, all staff should have an appropriate understanding of information governance and cyber security, built through an effective range of approaches. A little every week, recorded as you go, is one of those approaches. Read the DSPT assessment guides.
For help completing the DSPT itself, use Better Security, Better Care, which is free for adult social care providers.
CQC and Ofsted
Every step each member of staff takes is dated and recorded, along with the courses they've finished and their certificates. Your Registered Manager can show that online safety training is in place and current whenever an inspector asks.
What's in the evidence report
For children's homes, it's laid out for your Regulation 45 review. For adult services, it's laid out against the DSPT. Both show where you stand, what your staff have done, and what to focus on next. See a sample.
Who can see the records you keep
Only your own team. Our support team can read them only if you switch support access on, for a time you choose, and you can see every time it was used. Read our privacy policy.
Where your data is kept
Your service's data is stored in the UK, and we're Cyber Essentials certified.
