Keeping children safe on CyberSafe Coach

How the platform is built with children's safety in mind, and what to do if you are worried about a child. Last reviewed: October 2026.

    Our commitment

    Confidence, not fear

Every child and young person deserves to feel safe online. Our children's content is written to build confidence, not fear, and to support the safeguarding that parents, carers and schools already provide.

Children's content is designed in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, uses trauma-informed language, and is checked for age-appropriateness and accessibility.

    The children's area

What we do, and what we never do

    We do

    • Give children age-appropriate lessons, games and scenarios about staying safe online
    • Show where to get help in the children's area
    • Support parents, carers and educators with practical guidance
    • Point children and adults to trusted help organisations

    We never

    • Ask for a child's name, email address or date of birth
    • Ask children to share personal experiences
    • Let children create an account themselves: an adult who is signed in creates an Adventure Code for them
    • Show adverts
    • Replace parental supervision, a school's safeguarding policy or professional support

On the website we keep a child's Adventure Code, their age band and their game and lesson progress, and nothing else about them. In our app, the children's area keeps everything on the phone and sends us nothing. Details are in our privacy policy.

    For schools and care providers

If your organisation uses our safeguarding module, your staff record online safety concerns using a reference, never a name. Only your authorised staff can see them. Our team can read them only if you switch on time-limited support access, or for 24 hours in a security emergency, when your admins are told straight away.
